Colleges and Universities

Education is clearly important to our family.  I am constantly amazed at how many women in the family attended college in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

We have ties to the founding of the University of North Carolina and to Davidson College.  We have had someone head up admissions at Salem College, and someone who was a well-respected football coach at Catawba College.  We have had people who were trustees for several colleges in North Carolina. We have had one who was president of UNC.  This is in addition to the numerous teachers and the handful of professors scattered among us.
